Youth Pastor Spotlight: Hope Thomas

Q: What’s your favorite city to visit?

A: New York/ Vancouver/ LA/ Dubai- love the busyness, food, culture and everything! Basically any place that has loads of people and good food!

Q: Favorite Movie?

A: Don’t have one- I’ll watch anything that is interesting! But I only really watch shows occasionally and the Flames play!

Q: Favorite Youth Ministry moment?

A: All of them! -

One funny moment would probably be the Lion Head Story- Because that's how everything really got started. I used to ( Well, still do..) believe if you are going to do something: Go big or don’t do anything at all! It was my first Wednesday of doing 5/6 ministry without a lead Pastor there and I wanted to make sure the night was awesome for the kids. So instead of telling the story of Daniel and the Lion's den from a normal human perspective, I wanted to tell it from a lion's perspective. Now, there is a GIANT lionhead in the church...

Q: What’s your favorite city to visit?
A: My favourite place I’ve ever visited was San Diego...didn’t go to Sea World though ;( #savetheseaanimals

Q: Favorite Movie?
A: It’s a Bollywood movie called Kal Ho Naa Ho (It’s your classic Indian love triangle, running through the fields, kind of story)

Q: Favorite Youth Ministry moment?
A: At our in:town retreat last year, we went to Monster Mini Golf, and I remember seeing students playing one of those scam games that no one ever wins, and they were trying to put a key through a hole so that they could win one of the cool prizes (iPad, iPod Touch, Galaxy Tab, Nintendo DS). I thought to myself I need to get these kids away from this machine because they are going to waste all of their money. I walked up and the students began chanting my name… and all of a sudden I WAS ALSO PLAYING THE GAME! 🤦🏾‍♂️ After about my fifth try I ended up winning the Nintendo DS and felt SO AMAZING.. this is where my gambling addiction began. Haha… JK.
